NBU 7.5.0.6 - duplicate a backup image to an existing tape

Hi all,
after our vault job has finished. One of the backup image is missing on the tapes. Is it possible to duplicate this missing image to the used tapes for the vault job? On the tapes there is enough space left. I don't like to erase the tapes and run the whole vault job again.

How to Backup Up KMS files

Hi, our customer's appliance is NBU5230 appliance (2.6.0.3), which is the only NBU server in their environment. Recently they plan to implement KMS in the appliance. I did some checking and found for normal master server, we can back up the KMS files (KMS_DATA.dat, KMS_HMKF.dat and KMS_KPKF.dat) for DR purpose.
My question is:
For the appliance, how to back up these files? Thanks in advance.

Remote Admin Console

I have some clarifications.
Our client is having a problem accessing their remote admin console. It was installed on a different machine and he already added the host name to the server list.
I found this thread, https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/netbackup-installing-remote-admin-console-need-client-order, and ask him to do some of the guidelines Marianne suggested.
Does a user account need to have administrator privileges on master server to access the Remote Admin Console?

Restoring Windows File in VMware envirronment

Hello everyone,
I have an vmware envirronment with linux and windows server.
I backup my servers with a VMware Policy.
I need to restore windows file but I don't want to install the NBU client on each server.
So I dedicate one of my win server to be the "proxy" server. I restore the file on it and copy the file to the good server.
This proxy server has the client installed.
But the restore failed with the status 58 : Can't connect to client. I deactivated the firewall and run again. But I have the same error message.
The only way I found is to create a "fake" policy with no schedule but only one client : My "proxy server". I deactivacte this policy.
With this configuration I can restore the file. But I think is not the only and the good way to restore a single file.
Could you please help me?

I have installed Symantec Backup Exec 12.5 agent(Push Installation) in Windows 2012 R2 server. I have followed bellow URL, but each time getting same error while start the job. Please note that Main Backup Exec Server Software is installed in Windows 2003 Server.

I have took bellow steps but same result:
1. Volume Shadow Copy Service already been changed to Manual at 2012 R2 Server.
2. I have checked "vssadmin list writers" in agent pc & VSSADMIN writers shows a "stable" status.
3. System Reserved Partition a drive letter is already been assigned. I have checked it.
Would you like to support me to get the resolution!

Spoold handle count extremely high

Since we upgraded to 7.6.1.1 we noticed the handle count for the spoold process is extremely high, 3000000 and above. I have looked at three of our media servers and all show the same.
Is this really normal? Seems very odd to me.

ODBC access error on backup exec. 2012

I have a backup exec. 2012 server that the backups seem to be working ok.
But a couple times a week I can have from 30 to a couple hundres of the below errors that happen in a few minutes.
""ODBC access error. Possible lost connection to database or unsuccessful access to catalog index in the database""
So any idea's on how to fix?
Would I try a database repair first?

OS drive backup fails convertion to microsoft VHD

I have four different drives backed up on a 2008 r2 server and the OS drive is the only drive that will not convert to a VHD. It fails every time. I have created conversion jobs for the other drive individually and they all run fine all using the same settings and locations as the OS conversion job but it fails.
With this error??
Error EC8F1F48: The 'Microsoft VHD' conversion process could not be completed.
Error EC8F1F46: An error occurred trying to retarget the virtual disk F:\DLC\Backup-hyperV\Backup-HyperV_C_Drive.vhd.
Error E0BB0004: Function Retarget Virtual Disk argument Mount Point is invalid. (UMI:V-281-3215-8008)

The other drives that do convert are using the same back file form the same location and saving the conversion to the same location which is actually a local drive on this server.

BE2010 Hardware Encryption unavailable for LTO5

Hi,
We recently bought a couple of LTO5 drives and have them working perfectly with BE2010. Only issue is that for some reason BE detects the drives as if they cannot do Hardware Encryption.
I am sure the drives are capable fo hardware encryption as their LTO4 predecessors were too.
Any ideas as of to why this is happening?

netbackup client host properties invalid error number

I can backup the client, loaded the software with all correct master/media servers. Put info in host files.
I need to make exclusions in the host properties, but cannot get it to come up. Take a long time, then says invalid error number.
Can do nslookup with name and IP both ways, no problem. Firewall is on for the client, but an inbound rule is made to our windows media server and IP to allow all TCP ports.
on the media server bpclntcmd - hn server name returns correct name and Ip of client
Any ideas would be great. Thanks.

In master server host properties ----> Clean-up ----> Keep logs value is set for 60 days.
In registry - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE ---> SOFTWARES ---> VERITAS ---> NETBACKUP ---> CURRENTVERSION ---> CONFIG ---> KEEP_LOGS_DAYS value is showing Decimal and Hexadecimal value as 3.
Are these values for different things or what?
By default logs are kept for 28 days, right? Are all three pointing at the the same logs?
